What unpairing Apple Watch does

How to unpair Apple Watch with the paired iPhone
- Keep Apple Watch and iPhone close together.
- Open the Apple Watch app and tap My Watch, then All Watches.
- Tap the information button beside the Watch and choose Unpair Apple Watch.
- Choose how to handle the cellular plan on a GPS + Cellular model.
- Enter the Apple Account password when asked so Activation Lock can be removed.
Wait for the process to finish before separating the devices or handing the Watch to someone else.
How to erase Apple Watch without the iPhone
On Apple Watch, open Settings, tap General, then Reset and Erase All Content and Settings. This erases local content while leaving Activation Lock in place. Remove the Watch from the Apple Account separately before another person tries to activate it.
