PIKATE’s RePod First Look: An Old SE Out of the Drawer

PIKATE likes putting his unused SE into a different form. He is also candid about the extra device to carry when a smartphone is always with him.

PIKATE’s Apple Watch SE had stopped being useful to him and ended up in a drawer. He fitted it into RePod and liked the idea of giving the same Watch another life.

His first look at Techpod’s RePod comes with a candid reservation: a separate device can feel redundant when your phone already goes everywhere with you.

Keep the old Watch, with room for one more device

PIKATE likes the reuse concept. The SE is still the device inside, with Techpod’s case giving it an iPod-inspired handheld shape. His own unused Watch becomes something he is interested in again.

He also points out that it remains another object to carry. If your smartphone is always in your hand, some of the purposes he considers for a separate player may overlap with it. He treats RePod as a different role for old hardware, with an extra device to make room for.
